i think it's a mistake for you to drift from traditional media.

this shit right here is your strength.

I think you just need to have more variety in your lines weights 

You aren't Skooti Young that sketchy thing he does compensates for his lack of detail; which naturally comes from your more methodical mind.
Play that up.

and also:
go through a life-drawing course
You have a great style, you are just held back - same as me - by your lack of grasp of the fundamentals.
Basically your talent is enough for you to tread water; but not swim like an olympian
